I have a 73 Bronco. I upgraded from 30" tires to 31" and I am getting some body rub on the front. I want to install a body lift to alleviate the problem. If I order a 2" body lift should I also order new bushings. If so, will the stock bushing mounting hardware work ok in conjunction with the body lift kit or do I need to do something else.

The local 4x4 shop wants to charge me $800 to install the body lift. Is that reasonable? Seems high given the price of the parts. how hard is this to do?

First off, what are you rubbing? The actual body or are you rubbing the radius arms? If you are hitting the radius arms, there isn't much you can do other than get a different offset rim. If you are rubbing body panels, you could trim some metal off and that could solve your problem.

If you put a body lift on, it comes with all necessary hardware to lift the body (i.e. bolts, bushings, nuts, etc.). Now with that said, there are other things that are also a concern when doing a body lift. You must lengthen brake lines, change throttle linkages, shifting linkages change, there are a number of things that are required when doing a body lift "correctly". There really is more to it than just putting a body lift on. $800 sounds a little high to me, but if I were doing it for someone, I would charge at least $500. There is at least that much labor involved in doing it.

Thanks! I will check on what is rubbing. I had assumed it was body panels but will confirm to make sure it is not the radius arms. I was thinking of cutting some metal away if it was the body panels rubbing. May focus on that instead. Thanks again,

Actually, thinking about it some more, it is the left front tire rubbing on hard right hand turns so I don't think it is the radius arm...
