Hey guys I am happy to find this website today! I have a 1996 Full size Bronco and was wondering if I purchased these coils, if I would need anything else to keep the camber correct. I am not sure if the adjustable alignment bushings is enough or if I would need anything else? Here is the link to the ones I am liking, also any have these? How do they ride? Thanks!

Hi Bully Bob, thank you. I am going to have 33" tires on here soon and the camber is sagging abit on these original front coil springs. All I want is about 2" lift for the tire clearence. I try to keep the truck as low as possible so I can actually use it 4 wheelin and not worry about flippin down a hill.

welcome Bill,

Unless the original springs are really weak and sagging, you do not need to lift the front to use 33s. There is a pinned post on what size tires you can run with what lift.

If you do go with the springs, the camber bushings and a good alignment shop, should be all you need for the front. I would lift the rear an equal amount. Just to keep the truck level.

What Ron said.., That's why I was wondering if you already had suspension mods. Unless your front is setting low...new spgs. will make it higher than the rear.

How 'bout the ball joints.., have you checked them..? If worn, don't they affect the camber..?

Yea.. i know all of the above. The front springs being 16 plus years original have collapsed to negative on the camber afew digrees and has worn out the inner tread on my tires. Now that all 4 tires need replacement anyways, I want to get the ideal tires (33rees). Besides I cant stand how the truck looks with the front end sagging like it does. The steering/suspension is solid on the truck, well taken care of. As far as the rear I will install 1.5" raise blocks. The 1.5"-2" lift springs in question probably means 1.5" higher then original height to 2" if old and saggy hight like mine. Thats my assumption atleast. Assuming everything turns out right the front end will sit slightly higher then the rear which is fine, rather then the rear sitting higher then the front. Fitting 33" tires in front will definately rub my front bumper bad, which I can space out easily. The 32" tires under there now barely fit and by afew hairs doesnt rub. I want more suspension travel anyhow thats why I am doing a lift.

My question is/was has anyone here used these Springs? How they might feel on the road, and if the adjustable allignment bushings that they come with are also to correct the camber change from the higher springs? I will try giving them a call soon. Thanks

Yes the camber bushings are for camber adjustment after the springs are installed.

They should ride a little firmer than the stock. I haven't used the exact springs you speak of, but other similar springs gave a firmer ride.

I liked it but it's all a matter of opinion.

Instead of spacing the bumper out I trimmed the bottom cornet where it stuck into the wheel well. Easy to cut not visible unless you stick your head in the wheel well and keeps your bumper as close to the truck as possible for approach angle which sucks anyway.

Right Wileec! Actually I probably will do that. I have seen afew Broncos with the bottom corners of the bumper shaved to fit bigger tires, and it does make better sense. Hey notice how that ad I linked on my first post, specifies that the leveling coils comes with "adjustable alignment bushings" and doesnt say anything about "adjustable camber bushings".

what he said^ I think I used s dremel like tool with a 1/4" bit that holds a 2.5" cut off wheel. It was before I gotthe angle grinder.

I decided to get "BDS" leveling coils/alignment bushings 1.5"-2" lift. I should have it here on tues., (just in time to **** the wife off looking at this on Valentines day....lol. After install I will decide how high to lift the rear. I prefer the rear not to sit higher then the front, therefore I am going to check it out first before ordering the lift blocks for the back. I am hoping I can get as high as 2" lift blocks back there. After that I am going to pull the front bumper off then install my new 33x12.50r15 tires, after that I will put the front bumper back on with probably a 1" spacer so it doesnt rub against the bigger tires. I cant wait to get this done! My current tires are bald and I cant stand how the current front end springs are collapsing.

If you put blocks on the back, make sure they come with new "U" bolts and wedges to keep the driveshaft straight.

If you use the truck primarely off road it isn't and issue because the suspention is doing alot of articulation and movement. If you drive it daily, and/or on the highway you need to be sure the rear axel is tilted to keep the driveshaft aligned. (Take a look and your will probably see the wedge installed from the factory, between the axel and the spring mount.) Not doing so will wear components quicker and could result in driveline vibration.

The company you buy the blocks from should be able to get you the correct wedge for the lift. Just ask if they are used with the original wedge or if you need to discard it.

for only 2" of lift if you put your block ontop of that factory wedge you shouldnt run into problems, I did the 3" add a leaf with 2.5" blocks in my bronco and I kept the factory wedge and I never had any issues on or off the road. I even swapped out the DC shaft for the single joint shaft from the front. as far as driveshafts are concerned as long as your joint runs at 30 degrees or less off either end you should be fine, and you shouldn't come anywhere close to that

we use PTO shafts for our mechanical jacks to lift grain bins and we can run those up to 40 degrees at the joint but granted they don't spin as fast as a drive shaft at highway speeds.

Hey guys, I put the new coil springs and shocks on my front end last night. Couldnt look/sit more perfect, no more saggy front end. It sits about 2" higher in front now. Real soon I will put the 1 1/2" lift blocks in back and then ready for my new tread! It doesnt look like I am going to have to space out the front bumper when I get my bigger tires. I assume the front end may come down a tiny bit more, although I drove it for afew miles last night after I was done. Here is a quick pic. I will post up afew more when I finish lifting the back an about a week.
