i have to replace the driverside axle seal on my 9 inch rear, never done it on a 9 inch before, anything i should know?

Have fun on the 9 in I was glad after reading the Manual and the finding out i had the 8.8 cuz You have to drill out the coupling to crack it off and then trying to get the bearings pressed off and on the axles... And why your at it might as well replace the passenger side too... Good Luck .....

It is not that bad. i rigged up a slide hammer to a puller that way a could beat out the axle shafts than bring them to a machine shop and they can press the old off and the new on. put some grease on the inside of the new seal and put back together. You do have to pull the brakes apart so do it right and replace the shoes and hardware.

If you press the bearing on your self, make sure you put it on the write way or when you go to put the axle in you'll push the bearing out of the race instead of pushing the race into the axle tube.
