I have been dealing with the alignment of my 70 EB the past few days. Yesterday I replaced the old brake line with a longer stainless steel line and went front a stock ride string to a Deaver with a 3 inch lift to even out the front and rear. I replaced the "C" bushings about six months ago with 4 degree bushings to compensate for the lift. While I did the springs, I pulled the "C" bushings off to make sure I put them on the right way. Everything checked out.

When I installed the springs I noticed that they were pitched really far forward, to the point that they didn't line up with the upper spring bucket. After a lot of man handling I got them to go into the upper buckets, but they pitch forward on the bottom, then pitch back to the bucket almost like a banana. I thought the new bushing rolled the front axle back to the proper angel to prevent this. I have not road tested it yet, but with the front wheels now pitched that far out of camber, I am concerned I will get speed wobble now.

Has anyone else experienced this and is there a good solution? Since I had the whole front end apart, I didn

There is going to be some "bowing" in the front springs with any lift, but typically that bow is going out towards the tire. They will also have to have settle time, but that doesn't mean that it shouldn't be able to line up inside of the perch/bucket. Have you checked your rear bushings on the radius arms? Are they new or old, if they are new are they in upside down or backwards? Those have to go in a specific way too if you havent checked those do it. If anything, you might give WH a call and talk to those guys about it too. It is always nice to have a couple of folks diagnose your problems too.

The C bushings don't actually change the angle of the lower spring perch in relation to the spring, only the axle changes...

The difference in angle at the spring cup is due to the increased height of the spring pushing the arm lower. There are two ways to compensate for the new angle, drop the rear of the radius arm, or shim the front of the spring cup.

According to Jeffs they do. I dont know if they are right or wrong. According to them if I go with a 7 degree C bushing it will solve the problem. That is what they are designed for. The nice thing is that they are only $25 per set, the drag it you have to take the whole front end apart to install them. So I guess I know what I will be doing this weekend.

The 7* bushings WILL NOT change the angle of the spring perches....

They WILL correct the pinion angle and caster angles by "twisting" the diff in its C bushing mounts.

The bow is standard, don't worry about it. If you want the coil level you need to add a angled shim under the lower cup and on top to match the angle with your bolts.

The 7* bushings will help rotate the axle but not the cups.

Got it, I cant help what they say. I finished with new springs and lenthened the trac bar today and the Return to Center is back on track. I can take my hands off the wheel without changing lanes. I dont get why it is corect now, but it is. As far and the spring angle, I guess I wont worry about it until it becomes a problem. I dont know if it will track with a tow bar now, that really does not matter since I already have a trailer for it.
