do I need to bother adjusting the tv cable if I'm putting the same transmission in? not the same EXACT one .just same type

I would since that tranny's linkage and lever spring may be more or less worn than that in da old tranny; inspect the bushing as described;

Throttle Valve (TV) Brass Bushing "...are known to have problems with TV cable adjustment, and it's often due to the original rubber bushing cracking & falling out while driving, which normally destroys the transmission in a couple of miles. But it's so common that Ford makes this upgraded brass bushing (see pic for Ford part number), which is cheap (~$10) & easy to install..." Source: by Steve83

yea . I was gonna give it a shot . I saw a little thing on u tube onhow to adjust it. I just don't wanna ***** it up .or spend any/too much money . ruining a tranny in 2-3 miles wouldn't be fun ha ha . u ever do it before miesk5?

ok, that U Tuvbe vid is ok, Ken does a lot on his site too. Throttle Valve (TV) Linkage & Adjustment; "...AOD’s use a TV. (throttle valve) linkage on the left side that is hooked to the carburetor or throttle body with a cable or rod. Setting the TV (throttle pressure) cable is a crucial adjustment for the AOD but it’s not hard to do. Normally the cable is set so there’s neither slack or has tension on it in the closed throttle position.
