Might want to check for loose connections at the battery or could be voltage regulator.

The alternator ground is through it's case to the engine block. Check the condition of the battery ground cable to the engine block. Look of corrosion where the lugs connect to the cable. Also, pull the battery ground off the engine block and clean the connection and re-bolt on. It would also be good to do the same to the frame ground, After bolting them back on cover the area with dielectric grease to keep moisture out of the connection. There is also a ground strap from the back of the intake to the fire wall, clean that up too. Other grounds in the engine compartment you should take care of while you are at it, are the headlight and marker light grounds, one on either fender near the front and the hood ground strap.

Good luck,

i found the issue. it was the same thing as wat was wrong wit my fuel pump... just another bad wire. the guy i bought the truck wasnt too bright and apparently neither washis mechanic. the the bad wire for the alternator had bout a pound of solder bulging out of the shrink wrap and just to make things more interestingthe wire wasnt even soldered to the other piece of the wire.... the shrink wrap was shrunk between the pound of solder and the rest of the wire it was supposed to be soldered to... how it worked the night i bought it ill never kno. and to make matters worse the wir that was used was too small of a gauge and melted through the rubber coating and sprking almost everytime i started the truck. this truck is a piece of work
