Ahh, the EGR position sensor. I should add that to my "new" parts list. I spaced out on that one, most likely because it was an unplanned event. The bolt holding the old one on were stripped so I just went out and bought a new one...

I have NOT yet reset the computer, so they may well be old codes.

What about a TPS?

What is an EVP?

It could be dirty/clogged fuel injectors, and I am pretty sure that they would not throw a code. IF your injector cleaning doesn't do a sufficient job, you might want to consider taking it to a mechanic who has the equipment needed to do a decent job of it at a reasonable cost.

When I changed my TPS I had to pull my throttle body to do so. The front of it looked relatively clean, but the inside of it was filthy, and I *may* have had a clogged port that I cleaned out. There are butterfly valves in there that look like a choke. Is it possible that they are dirty enough that the IAC can't or isn't dependably opening them? You might want to try cleaning them a bit. Pull your air intake hoses off of the throttle body and spray some carb cleaner to make sure the IAC can easily move the throttle plates or whatever they are called.

I can sense your frustration, and I am running out of ideas. Just a few left.

I had the same problem with my first bronco. I did all the checks and repairs that you have done and still had the problem. After months and lots of money I replaced the distributor and retimed the thing and never had the problem again. If you havent figure a solution, try it. Let me know. Good luck

Katie, you have a lot of input here and a lot of options to check out. I dont wish to pile on but.....I had the exact problem you are having. I took all the steps you did, and did everything that everyone is recommending and still had the problem. So I went back to the basics of troubleshooting and checked all connections. Believe it or not it ended up being a loose wire. I am not certain what the component was so I took a pic for you. Once i saw the loose wire, I repaired the connector and reinstalled it. After that no more problems at all. Maybe someone on here might know what the component is that it connects to. The first pic is a close up, the second I took further back to show location. I do hope it might help.

It ended up being a fuel regulator!!

As I was reading this I was thinking fuel pressure regulator as well . At an idle when vacuum is high the regulator opens and allows fuel to run back to tank ( no sense overworking the fuel pump at an idle ) when you get on it hard or induce a load on the motor the vacuum will fall off closeing the regulator and maintaining the pressure at the fuel rail for the injectors . I have found this with a fuel pressure tester doing a free flow test and unhooking the vacuum line to the regulator to simulate a loaded condition if its stuck open the fuel pressure will remain low as well as the volumn coming out because it has another path back to tank . How did you find it was the regulator ? Glad you found it :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
