Hi guys, ive got a question for anyone. I have a 93 ford bronco full size, 5.0 e40d. I have recently been having trouble with it.I will get a check engine light come on and the truck will run like its missing, then the light will shut off and truck will run fine again.I had one time at the gas staion where it did that and when i went to start it it would not. After about 5 times trying it crancked up and smelt like it was floodedn or sumthing. If anyone has come across this or anything could u please let me know.

Thanks very much, john

yo John,

Suggest you do a self Test for codes;

Self Test by BroncoJoe19

do the KOEO = Key On Engine Off portion first

& Remember to have engine @ Normal Operating Temperature before doing the KEY ON ENGINE RUNNING (KOER) portion

A guess:

Probably ignition sys Hall Effect is bad

Post Code(s) found here and list by KOEO and KOER

had the same problem with a 93 302,it was the fuel pressure regulator. the computer kept trying to adjust for the fluctuating pressure so it would run well when until the pressure changes could not be compensated for,then started bucking. it is located at the rear of the fuel rail,drivers side.3 allen head screws on the bottom. I cut a wrench down and purchased allen heads for a ratchet to help with the job.

Hey guys I just had the same problem that u guys r having. My solution was that I replaced the EGR sensor and that check engine light doesn't come on anymore. It's always good to run the codes, but that's what my problem was and it works now.
