I Have a 1992 Bronco full size, Police edition, with a 302 5.0l. I wanted a new engine for this truck, I got my hands on a 1994 351w 5.8l. My questions are as follows:

I have heard the firing order on these two engines are different, is this true, and if so will I have to get a new ECU for my truck.

(Can anyone suggest a company for getting a new ECU with the options I need?)

Also, If anyone can make other suggestions, all are appreciated.

Thanks.

302 non ** uses the 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 firing order

302 ** and 351 use the 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8

351W (Windsor)

When swapping parts between these engines, the most confusion surrounds the camshafts. Camshafts will interchange, but the 351W has a different firing order (1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8) compared to the 289/302 (1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8). Compounding the situation, the '82-and-later 302 ** engines use the 351W firing order.

The 302 computer will work just fine w/the 351
