I have a 1991 bronco with the 351 5.8l engine. I tied to start truck and i felt no resistence in the ignition switch. when i turn the key the power (dash lights, radio ect) come on but the truck wont start. I pulled the ignition switch out and it definantely was broken so I put a new ignition switch in and it still wont start. I played with the shifter and at one point it wouldnt come out of neutral. I took a section of the plastic off of the steering column and did notice a shaft running parralell to the steering wheel shaft and it is moving in relation to the turning of the key. I tried to move it a little further forward and aft but it seemed to be moving its full travel. I did not disconnect the battery when i did all of this.

Can someone please help me with my problem or give me some ideas as to what might be wrong.

thank you very much

Micah

I didnt realize there was an adjustment procedure. The only thing i didnt do was disconect the battery. I reinstalled with battery disconnected and had the same problem. I jumped the solenoid with a screwdriver and it started. When i turn the key it just doesnt feel right, there seems to be no resistance when i turn it. I guess ill look into adjustment procedure

Thanks for the advice

Micah
