My power window made a "pop" sound yesterday and will neither go up or down.

I am able to pull the window up manually and move it down.

I can hear the window motor engage so I think the window has slipped off the track.

It did this once before and my old mechnic fixed it and never told me how.

How do you put it back on the track?

Thanks

Rob

Lots of things that could be wrong with your window. Motor/gearbox breaking loose, assembly broken, window out-of-track etc. (when you pull it up by hand, is it still in the track and fairly smooth and easy?). But a common Ford power window problem is with the gearbox. Good news is there is a cheap fix. Go to the "Tech Articles and Reviews" section of this site, on page 2 is an article on a power window fix. Might be your problem, might not.
