think the last good set-up with the solid axle was on the 78-79 bronco and from what I can remember to do it on a newer model you have to get about a four inch lift so tires should fit mine is only a two inch and the 33's dont go anywhere neer the fenders the radious arms only when tight turning but not the fenders test fitted 35's when i got them and needed about another inch to pull it off

The body mount locations for the 78/79 and 80-96 Broncos are way different and would require alot of work. IT would be somewhat easier to keep the 89 body and frame, then put the 78/79 axles under that. You'll need to fabricate the front axle and coil spring mounts to the frame, often refered to as an SAS. THe rear 9" will bolt right in, but will not have the RABS. 35" tires will be fine for moderate wheeling, and if you start breaking axleshafts you can upgrade to stronger ones.

wtfd, the Fabritech kit is not neccessary, if you can build your own brackets or have them made.

am speaking from my own point of view in saying time is money in my situation while given the choice would spend as much time as I could on my truck but it doesn't work that way so for me its a matter of geting all of the parts dropped at my door so can make a good weakend with a few friends and get it done yes I could get the parts from here and there and make the fabrications and would prefer that but its just a mater of time=money type thing

Don't get me wrong, I fully understand weighing the time it takes to build something vs. paying for a "kit" and having the work done. I'm just saying you have other options aside from the $1700 kit. I'm doing an SAS on my Bronco, only working on weekends. But, using a leaf spring front axle is much simpler and cheaper. Even if you have to buy the metal and have the brackets made at a welding shop, the cost should be well under $500.

ok fair enough and I think that the leaf sprung is better but for some one just starting out would rec the kit as they may not know what they will need and not sure but it might come with directions (or was that a rag to wipe hands on same thing) anyway given the choice would get a 78-79 and fabricate a 96 body onto it as I like the interior and the front better but for that matter take a 03 or newer 350 and fab a body onto it

but I digress (wow big word all of the sudden) yes your way is prefered by some myself included but if you want it all at your door ready to get started and dont want the down time or hassle of waiting for weling shops then the kit is the way to go only wish they had a leaf sprung version
