89 bronco warms up, and power goes down

hey all, newbie to the group here. i have 89 fs bronco 351 m. rv cam, shorty headers, etc. my problem is the motor is real strong cold but as it warms up it goes soft. the timing when warms up was retarding almost 12 degrees. i stop that still goes soft checked all vacum lines no problems. any ideas b-(

2 ideas. one whats your base timing set at?? should be about 10 deg. btdc with the shunt unplugged. 2nd in my truck with the cam i have in it i was running regular stock pluggs.(Autolite) it didn't feel like it should so i switched to Autolite platnium. what a difference in the way it performes both cold and fully warmed up. maybe not your problem but worth a try :)>-

o isnt' it a windsor and not a m series eng??

yes my bad to many cervezas :)) its a windsor, but yes the timing is dead nuts at 10 btdc i do have autolite plugs but i really cant remember if plat or plain janes
