ok, i own an 89 bronco 2 xlt. it was sittin in my driveway for like 9 months before we got around to drive it because we had a hard time gettin the title from previous owners. when we brought it home the first time, everything worked; radio, elec. 4wd, inside lights, everything. After the 9 months nothing worked. We replaced the starter solenoid, battery and then the alternator and it started up, but no inside lights came on and the radio was dead and somethin was eatin up the battery. I traced that to a problem with a fuse in the distribution box and pulled the fuse since then the battery has been fine. The past few months it has ran fine except it wont go above 80, and just recently it will not start in the morning or if it is really cold outside. When i turn the key, the fuel pump turns on and when i turn it just cranks but doesnt turn over. I replaced the starter but still it is hard to start. it takes like 10 mintues of cranking to turn it over, but i have to turn the key real quick and like bump the engine for it to start. sometimes it sounds like it will start but jus stalls. i really need help.

If the starter turns over but the engine won't start, the problem is not the starter. I would get the fuel pressure checked. I sounds like you either have a weak pump or some restriction to the fuel flow.

As far as the top speed, what are your RPMs at 80? Do you have oversized tires?

Good luck,

:)>-
