88 tranny no shift into 3rd gear

i was driving on the high way doing 50 mph and the trans was working fine . i got off the highway and the trans shifted fine through the gears ,got home parked it and when i got in and left about 30mins later the trans wouldn't shift from 2nd to 3rd. it shifts fine from 1st to 2nd but wont shift in to 3rd it just stays in 2nd gear .is there a vacume line broke mabe? i havnt any idea please help! it a 1988 eddie edition with the 302 efi

Check your tranny belts, they may be lose causing it to slip, mine did it before. If you have a manual look into it. Its easy, just a couple of bolts. If you dont have a manual, let me know and I can describe it to you.

Sorry I have no idea how to help. But what kind of transmission do you have?Did you check your trans fluid level?

Ok I think he is talking about the bands in the transmission. They are real and when a trans starts to slip it is usually caused partly by these bands being lose.

This is not a joke, I will be cleaning the thread
