I have an 1986 full size ford Bronco, My rear window roll's down , Only from the cab though.

My question is, What part do I need, Or what do I do to fix it so that it rolls up and down from the key switch also? Thanks for any help. :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Hey Wynn,

I have a '91 so maybe a little different set up but...

Roll the window up

Take the panel off the tailgate.

Look inside where the lock is at and you should see (at least on mine) a switch that gets pressed when you turn the key

You can try pressing the buttons on the switch instead of using the key and see if it works.

Hope that helps. Let us know how it goes.

i have a 93, my window's motor gears had to be replaced, so i replaced them, switches worked fine before that. now neither work, i felt around in the tailgate and found a broken wire next to the outside switch, i believe this is the ground wire, but have no idea how to fix it, i ran a wire from the broken wire end to the other but nothing happened. any ideas?

for the 2nd last post do this, check power to the switches ( fuse) check if power is getting to the window motor ( could be a bad motor) or cut the damn wires off below the saftey switch inside the tailgate beside the latch release hardware, and wire them together, if nothing else was wrong that stupid little switch causes alot of problems, if it works then either replace the switch or live without it

There is no "ground wire" for the motor in the t/g. Only in the dash. Read the captions in that album & post some pics. The color(s) of the broken wire would be good to know, too. ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

the wire is black, i noticed that when i was trimming some of it to give me a decent amount of wire to connect to the other.

dwreck you still havin problems with that window? i think you might have done the wrong wires or theres a plug that could have gone bad thats what happened to mine its underneath the window gears and you have to bypass it buy cutting the wire before it and just hook the wires together
