I have an 86' Bronco II 2.9L EFI. I cant get it to start ive checked the entire fuel system even replacing the pressure reg. and filter. Then I moved onto the ignition system, the control mod tested good then I checked the coil and found out its not putting out anything, so i replaced it and still no power coming out if it, ive also checked relays and fuses.. any help would be great... Thanks Joe

Hi Joe,

Please let me be the first to Welcome you to broncozone! BTW... you have a really cool name :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Did you check to see that you have 12 volts to the bat side of the coil?

i'm assuming the engine cranks.

and that you do not have spark from the coil.

You might want to consider pulling codes.

Try pulling your cap and have someone crank the engine. See if the rotor turns.

IF you could try the above, and then give us more information we could be more helpful without beating ourselves up by writing an entire book.

I just checked to see if I was getting power to the coil and I am. I pulled the cap and the points are pretty burnt up so is the rotor. The rotor also turns with the engine. but my coil is still not throwing a spark. Could it just be a bad ground? the coil is mounted to the plastic fender well. It also has a small 1/2 inch X 1 inch cylinder coming off of the hot wire that is connect to a ground. Any idea what this is? could it be my problem?

Thanks Joe
