can you just use spindles out and run the bronco caliper or do you need the backing plate and f250 calipers when switching a 79 bronco 5 lug outers to the 79 f250 8 lug. also are the sub shafts the same for both trucks and is it possible to use the bronco tie rod on the f250 knuckles?

You have to use the f250 brake calipers and mounts; with a 8 lug hub. The spindle pattern is the same on these knuckles as far as I know. You can use the bronco tie rod on the f250 knuckles just look and see because some of the tie rods were top mount on those knuckles. The sub shafts are the same there is no issue there. I would also look at doing a high steer application for your rig. You can get the high steer stuff through a couple diffrent shops, but all you need done is the top of the flat top knuckles machined to take the special CNC machined piece that will make it a high steer application so your tie rod would be way out of the way of obstacles, and you can run heim joints for your steering application which is much stronger then tie rods.
