Try to keep it dry. Try to keep it away from salt water, salt air, and anything else that corrosive. Really no need to consider additives at this time since it is essentially sealed & nothing should be able to "seep" into it, right? Where you live, the environment & the weather are the main things you should consider. Try to keep the transmission away from all forms of moisture & wetness. Having done that, you should be OK - even for extended periods of time.
