I have a 95 bronco with auto-lock hubs for the 4WD. It has broken 2 times in 2 years on the beach. Has any one have this problem before? Any suggestions?

if i were you i would just convert to manual hubs. in my opinion they tend to be stronger than the factory automatic hubs. get a good known brand like mile marker or warn.

if you do change over you will have to get out and lock the hubs to engage 4 wheel drive, but its not like its hard to lock the hubs anyway.

I just changed mine out this weekend, it took about 30 minutes. It is one of the easiest mods to do. I highly recommend it

I agree with the other posts. If your auto hubs are breaking down, convert to the manual version.

Ford vehicles with auto locking hubs MUST be driven in reverse for about 10 -15 feet in order for the hubs to properly disengage after the truck is put back into 2 wheel drive.

Failure to do this everytime is probably the most common reason for worn/ damaged hubs.
