I've done the 460 swap on my 84, and there's a few other members here that have done it. Search for my thread. You'll need new motor mounts that adapt the 460 to the Bronco frame (L&L PRoducts), relocate the oil filter, and drop in a transmission for the 460 or bigblock Ford engines. Your stock Bronco tranny will not bolt up to a 460. JSM84

I wish this was as cheap and easy to swap a 1 piece crank to a 3 piece crank on a bycicle, but then again if it was that easy, everyone would want to do it!

just one thing to consider about the swap, you can get about 300HP out of the 302 with about the same in torque. not an animal, but more then plenty for any type of street (non racing) application.

add to this you already have the 302. consider a set of air flow research aluminum heads and youll be amazed of the performance. plus the fact that gas is $3. +/- per gal and the big block if your lucky will only net you around 8-10 mpg (ouch). and you should get 12-15 with a hot 302.

I know, it is nice to have the bragging rites of a big block, thats why I put a 390 in my model T pure testosterone nothing more. UGH UGH UGH!

the ford 302 is known for its really bad head designs, they are very restrictive. change them out to a performance cast iron or if you have the money, aluminum. saves weight with the performance. you could get as much as 30-50 HP if matched with a cam, and carb. and your only spending around $1500

if you still want more power, you can put a stroker kit in the 302. theres a company offering a 326ci for around $2500 itll take 8500RPM'S!!! and will accept NOS the company is Ford Performance Solutions there web address is www.f-p-s.com another company is coast high performance@ www.coasthigh.com both companys have huge reps and have excellent products.
