Recently bought my 87 Bronco and got screwed, i had the truck for less then 24 Hours and the motor blew due to blown head gasket. So i bought a second 302 for the truck and put it in, unfortunately the crank was warped, and after 2 cranks it locked. I am now looking a 351 cleveland motor along with a C6 trans. Anyone know of any major problems that i may run into? I am aware that i may have to change my transefer case from electronic to manual engage, along with my hubs, due to the fact that i may have electrical problems going from EFI to Carb. Thanks for the help, as soon as swap is started ill up date regularly

The push button T case is a stand alone unit in that yr so you wont have to mess with that . Youll have to get headers or manifolds from like an 80 that had a 351M then you should be set there . I have a hard time believeing the crank in your last 302 was warped maybe broken . You should be ok with finding parts from an 80 with the 351M to do the swap . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

thanks, i had not clue that the t-case was a stand alone unit, but would the electronic lockers still work? The 351C im getting is being pulled and im getting the headers and the exhaust, but of course the piping will need to be modified to fit on the truck, do you know about the trans linkages going from E4OD to the C6?

You will have to do alot of fab work or find a column out of the yr truck your working on that had a C6 then youd be set . The hubs are not electronic they are mechanical auto locker and manual hubs both . I have another complete stand alone controller for the push button T case it came out of an 87 I think latter ones were integrated into the EEC not sure on that one though I prefer the manual T case :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

yeah i like the manual ones better also, i have a friend who pulled one out of his 78 F150 for a differently geared one, and his old one is just collecting dust, so i may take advantage of that. Im pretty sure i could find a 80's column to put in my truck because my current column is really loose, but what im worried about is the length of the linkages under the truck. i might not have to much of a problem though because the 87 are suppose to be set up from the factory to accept a C6

ok , i took a look at the motor and cranked it, the engine sounds amazing edelbroc 4 barrel carb, along with a cam and some other extras. The motor was stillin a car so i drove it and the Trans seemed pretty sound. Quick question does any one know if there was more that one variation of the C6? because this setup is coming out of a Torino

The C6 and E40D both had small block and big block engine patterns . Your Cleveland has a small block pattern its the only one of the 351C / 351M / 400 engine family to have the small block pettern even the motor mount holes in theblock are the same as a 289/302/351W so it will bolt in where any of these sat . Running the exhaust will be a differnt story . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
