hello everyone! just to let everyone know, im a stang fan! this will be my first full size bronco ive ever owned. so anyways heres the deal....i just recently purchased a 1994 ford bronco and it has a 302 in it. i wanna put the 351 in it. so the reason im doing the swap is because the 302 in it is shot! i purchased the bronco for 800 bucks. its a second owner car owned and lady driven. they bought it in 1995 with 10 or 15k on it and shes driven it ever since. so anyways they have a son so they recently gave it to him and he put a cold air on it and hit a big water hole and sucked water through the intake and blah blah blah and blew the engine up. so i got it now and right before they gave it to the kid they had a tranny service new brakes and radiator put on at ford. its always been serviced at ford. the bronco is in great shape! real clean. so im just blabbering on...sorry, well i just want to put a 351 in it and exactly what do i need to do this??? motor mounts? adaptors? computer? upper intake and plenum? i dunno? im new to the bronco scene. so please help me so i can do this.

future things i want to do is 6" lift and wheels and tires. maybe yall can give me info on whats the best lift for the buck??? id like a good lift but not too much moola. and is 6" lift big enough for 35 tires? thanks yall..

To swap to the 351 you'll need the motor mounts, proper computer & exhaust. I'm assuming you're getting an entire engine, the accessories are the only parts from the 302 that will swap & you'll need the 351 bracketry. The 302 intake won't work so you'll need a complete 351 intake. Were you looking at a new complete 351, a used engine or a new longblock ? Just out of curiousity why swap up to a 351 ? The milage is gonna **** you and you're not going to pick up that much power. The difference in the power to weight ratio is not even close to what you'd see pulling this swap in a Mustang. You'll get a moderate performance improvement and take a big hit in milage on top of spending a lot of cash. If the prev. owner hydrolocked the engine there's a good chance you can get away with just replacing the short block & maybe the valves. However you slice it you'll spend a lot less installing a 302 (long OR short block) than you will swapping in a 351. It'll cost a whole lot less and the $$$ you save can be used on the lift & tires. Just an idea.

Yes, a 6" lift will give you what you want for 35's but you may also want to consider bumping the gears as well if you run them. 4.11's are a good choice when running 35"/36" tires

thanks for the info. well that gave me the info needed. i may just keep the 302 and just spend the cash in the lift and tires and gearing. i will definately prolly stay with the 302 prolly because my friend gave me an idea that if i wanted to get really into the customizing of this bronco he says convert it to a powerstroke diesel turbo setup. thats an idea i really like! hmmmm.......
