I have a 91 Bronco and Next year or very late this year I want to re-do my engine compartment w/ paint and motor, I don't want the 302 in there. At first I was gonna put a 351, but I have always wondered about putting in a power stroke diesel [-o< , not for power or anything, just to be different and unique.

My bronco isn't for wheelin/rock climbing/ or muddin. Just a custom cruiser for fishing and **** hunting (don't not much mud).

Anyways I would really like some thoughts about a possible swap. What parts needed, cost $-) , and reality check lol I kind think the best thing would be to buy a cheap/wrecked/repo diesel truck n swap out things and resale what is not used (ie body wheels tires parts) including my old 302 to help pay for project, I also have another 302 I could sale for money to help.

Well, one way to find out why they went that way is to ask them. Click on their name and PM them.

Sorry, had to participate in a little family time...

I went with the cummins because it seemed to be more reliable than a V-8 diesel, it was physically smaller, and the wiring was simpler (which is why I put a 12V '95 in); and the Power stroke uses glo-plugs, where-as the Cummins uses a heater-grid system which is alot better (reliable) IMO. I hind sight I think a 5 speed NV 4500 would have been a better choice rather than the 47RE auto. Also the intercooler off of a '96ish P.S. would have probably fit better with fewer mods. Just be prpared for a lot of trial and error fab-work. One more thing, the instrument cluster is another small sticking point in the finished vehicle.

Go to fordcummins.com the kit for the F-250's (with the TTB of course) works well in a Bronco!!!

Good luck B)

Thanks for all of this new information, I talked with a deisel mechanic today that my b/f wroks with and he said that I was crazy first off lol :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> but then he said that I would be putting a lot of money in this project, which is the way all all good things come.

He said that I wouldn't have to change my wiring harness, and that some stuff would just be disconnected b/c the diesel didn't use most of that wiring, and wasn't needed for re-hook up. He said not much would have to be done with the fuel tank situation. He was a little worried with the tranny fitting. With a 3in body lift I think it would help a few things out though.

I am going to just and collect these parts n things over time to help out money wise. I just forked out 3 grand in my bronco in one year, I don't work and I am a full time student at college.

My father and I collect cars and restore them so I have a good background of parts searching. (we restore AMC vehicles) Hard to find parts.

Thanks for all of you guy's help I will continue to learn more and collect parts lol B) !!!
