I am looking at getting some 37 inch tires and i know i need to get some different gears, but... new gears cost around 500 dollars(cheap ones) there is a 90's model f-250 that my buddy has it has the 3/4 ton parts. He said he would sell it to me for under 500 dollars. How hard is the swap to 3/4 ton axles? would it be as effiecient as putting say 4.56 gears in my truck?

You will need different rims for the 3/4 stuff, a wait I see you have not bought the 37s yet maybe not an issue. And like miesk pointed out what are the ratios of them?

Sorry guys but i found out the guy sold the truck. And no i have not ordered the 37's yet, I am waiting to see how my truck runs with its new motor(its in the shop) but i plan on switching to 4.56 ratio and getting 37's i just have to find somebody to install the gears.
