2 engine problems

My engine when i crank it makes alot of noise like its knockin i have a 351 and it only happends when i first crank it after it warms up then it stops is it the lifters or what and how can i fix it ... another problem i have is when i slow down it wants to jump from 2000 rpms to 3000 rpms up and down back and forth until i hit the gas a couple of times is this the throttle position sensor or what and how can i fix it , it started after i put a throttle body spacer on it and it ran fine for about a month and then it started doin it

Try it without the throttle body spacer. See if it makes a diff. That knocking will get worse. I had an 84 F-150 that knocked on start-up over time got worse until it was plain old knocking all the time. I tore the engine down to see what it was and it was a main bearing. Junked it. And bought my first Bronco. (7 years ago)

If you can't get it fixed right now, Do regular oil changes to ensure the oil stays clean. I did one a month. Then drove the truck 16 Hours and got married, stayed 2 weeks and drove everyday, Then drove 16 hours home. By the time I got home It was knocking like crazy.

i talked to someone who said that it was the oil filter .... lol sounds wierd huh but i put a good quality oil filter on that dosent allow the oil to drain when it turns off and it stopped doin it ... lol i know it sound wierd but it did work ....so glad i dont have to put some main bearings in it... i havent tackled the rpm problem yet but i will let you guys know

:angry: ive been ther on the oil filter part i change my oil in my dads old van i got a bad fram oil filter and after i change the oil about 10 milits later it started making a ticking noies i thoult somthing happen bad we went to the beach we brought enought tools to do a rebuild on the sied of the road if we had to it got wors when we to to pensicola fl and we at out camp sight one night we had a complet gasket set we decited to take the motor out and took it apart at the sight and pulled the head off and looked at it nothing pulled the bottom end out and nothing bull the motor our by hand and put it on the table and looked at it not a dang thing so we put it back togather and when we got it back in the van and was putting a new filter in it and adding oil i picked up the oil ppan and drined it in the oil jugs and i drained the oil filter and i heard a ticking noise and come to find out the spring for the bypass was broken in to 2 pices so we took the motor out of the van for no reason lol but the motor was good and clean inside :lol:
