1993 Cobra 5.0 SVT for a 1976 Bronco

I just bought a 1976 Bronco with a broken 302 engine.

The cost of restoring is to high where I live so....

I have the option of buying 1993 Cobra 5.0 SVT engine with GT-40 Head, E303 camshaft

I would have to buy this #6105 Painless EFI 5.0 harness

I allso have the option of buying a recently restored 351w with dart aluminum heads and other goodies for similar price.

Wich engine would you recomend?

The Bronco has C4 transmission.

Has some one installed a 5.0 EFI engin in an old Bronco?

And If so is the Electric harnes difficult to install?

Hmmm, :closedeyes: Lots of rigs have this FI 302 swap but I wonder if the C4 is stout enough...? Same for the 351.

Prob. depends on how you drive it. Long hard rock trails in the summer may be rough on the C4. B)

FYI You can mail-order in fresh engines these days for suprisingly low prices. They have great warranties as well. >-

C4 is the strongest tranny in the broncos or so everyone says. Make sure you have the right flywheel for whatever you do though

I thought the C6 was....? Isn't that what comes factory behind 351's ..? @-)

I am not realy worried about the transmission, if it breaks there are lots of ways to make it stronger. or I could swap to a C6 and end my worries /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I dont know much about engines.

I want the Bronco to be realiable, powerfull and fun to drive /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

So do you think I should go with the 5.0 or the 351?

Would be nice to hear from some one with a 5.0L efi or a 351w.

Yes, C6 is the stronger it came in the bigger Broncos 1978 and up.

C4 came in the older Broncos with 302.

C4 has bean used with 351 with good results if its modified.
