1984 bronco: Driving home from work the lights and radio started flicker on and off, when I got home, I couldnt start it again without a jump.

It has a new alternater, the starter is good, the voltage regulater looks good. I tested the battery, its good.

What else can I trouble shoot?

The problem could be in the ground from the battery (-) to the engine block. Check the condition of the cable and connections to the block.

Corrosion is a common problem. Clean the battery terminals and check the condition of the lug to cable connections. Also remove and clean the connection of the battery (-) to frame and engine block. There is also a ground cable that runs from the back of the intake manifold to the fire wall on the driver side. Clean those connections also.

If you still have a problem after cleaning up the connections and determine that the cables are OK, then jump start the engine again. Using a meter check the voltage at the battery terminals, it should be about 13.5 volts. If you don't have at least 13.5 volts then you have either a voltage regulator or alternator problem.

Good luck,
