Welcome to the Zone >:D< <'> . Post some pictures when you get a chance we'd like to :-B at them. Also add your truck vitals to your signature for future reference.

All the Full Size Bronco engines from 83 - 96 have the same transmission bolt pattern so you should have no problem.

Good luck,

:)>-

yo,

made a mistake 15 years ago by telling someone to use the Driver's side label to ID their Rear Differential (axle, pumpkin type, etc.) or Transmission Code; turned out that a previous owner had swapped a Dana 60 in place of the stock 8.8

so... a run down;

AOD, C6 & E4OD Identification;

If the shifter has a P-R-N-OD-D-1 pattern, the transmission must be an AOD

If it has an Overdrive Cancel Switch and a P-R-N-OD-2-1 shifter pattern, then it is equipped with an E4OD MIESK5

The C6 pattern is is P-R-N-D-2-1

You can measure the transmission fluid pan to determine which transmission you have if identification information is not available.

A 4R70W transmission pan has an overall length of just under 15 inches, while an E4OD pan is much larger, measuring about E4OD pans are 20.5” by 13.5” with 20 bolts.-

But a visual depiction is better!

As my pal and resident Expert Mechanic and Bronco Rebuilder, as well as a fine fellow, Seabronc advised;

all 289, 302, 351W and 351C blocks used the same bellhousing bolt pattern, 5-1/8 in. between the top bolts; The 351M, 400 and 429 blocks have the same bolt pattern as the 460, (7-3/4 in. between the top bolts)
