I bought a 1 wire 170 amp alternator from JBG and it came with absolutely no install information. I want to make sure to hook it up right so I don't blow it up. Anybody out there done this install that can tell me how the wiring is supposed to go? I bought the heavy duty alternator wire at the same time, and I assume that it hooks up to the only terminal on the back of the alternator and to the positive side of the starter solenoid. Is this correct? And what about the wires that were on the original alternator? Do I still use the old voltage regulator or does this alternator have a built-in regulator? If I don't use the old regulator, do I just unplug it and let the plug hang? What about the wire that goes from the alternator to the electric choke?

Can anybody help me with this?

I sure wish that they would include some information with this product.

Bolt it on and hook up the 1 wire to your battery positive terminal. You could add a fuse, circuit breaker, fusable link, ect. if you want, but I didn't. The voltage regulator is internal, so you don't need the stock one.

Hope this helps! B)

As far as the electric chole is, I don't know. If you can disconnect the voltage regulator, do it, but check to make sure there is not interconnected systems, of course. It's been a while since I saw the stock wiring on a Bronco!!! :)>-
