Time to retire the old victrola today.....& more headaches.
Didn't really expect to have to rebuild/reinforce the area. Blasted 30+ yr. old plastics! 😡
Here we go with the JB reconstruction once again.

we found this fusor product for plastic repair. Its a bit pricey, but it cures hard in 5 min and its the strongest plastic repair stuff I have ever seen!

Some of these modern gizmos are kinda handy.
The Metra and Scorchese kits made the chore a bit easier.

Hey Jimbo,
we found this fusor product for plastic repair. Its a bit pricey, but it cures hard in 5 min and its the strongest plastic repair stuff I have ever seen!

If that stuff comes straight from the Lord, it has to be good!
Will have to remember that next go-round. JB takes a good bit longer to cure.

Hey L, you are right about that Fusor stuff being pricey. 😬 Will be a while before I can try.
Finally got my other half in the rig for a trip to town & back.
The Bronc sits up a bit higher then her Exploder, so I have to lend a arm and help drag her up & in. (I see a set of nerf bars in the future)
I don't think she likes that part what with being disabled, but she did appreciate the cushy ride.
Her 1st question- Does the heater work?
No issues there.
Had to replace the autoZone thermostat that came with the vehicle. Began to stick and that was the source of the temp gauge getting up over halfway on occasion.
That and the original 33 yr old Motorcraft radiator cap just wasn't holding pressure right. Unfortunate there's no easy way to replace the spring & rubber in the cap. Oem parts have a nostalgia Cool factor. 😎

It isn’t cheap for sure, but it has saved my a—- a bunch of times!
The old adage about 'Cheap/Good/Fast' applies.
Would have liked to give that stuff a try here where ⬇️I had to reconstruct the hood release. More JB to the rescue. If that ever fails, will be time to give Fusor a try. Keeping that latch assembly under the hood oiled goes a long way to prevention of cratered plastics. (Previous management no habla el maintenancia)
Time for a campout. Was cut short as rain moved in. Will pick back up on that when it dries out a couple of days.

Big diff the miles makes. It hit☀️70* today here. The🐞bugs were all over in places.
More of the usual slopville- we have to wait until February for real winter ❄️ and that's a maybe.

Ok, what today? A quick trip to town & back. I'm beginning to like this Boring Reliability thing. 😏
Did take some Meguiars polishing compound and a case of elbow grease to the right side of the vehicle where the paint had died-back from being parked at wherever all the years it sat dormant at one point. Now the thing looks about even all the way around. Will need a power buffer & some Tlc for that hood.
Old school single stage paint🤷‍♂️

the Francenbronc has an appointment with my polisher (And me) in the spring.
Putting a fresh 351W (building now), in my 69 Mustang rag with a T-5, Then the Bronco goes back under the Wrench for some more finishing. (flaps, steps, A\C connections. wiring tidy up) And interior!
I bet yours looks (and drives) like a new truck!

That's the way to do it- no rush.
Small blocks and 'jammers are rev happy fun stuff.
There's always something on the list. I may leave a minor thing or 2 undone on the list because in years past, had a couple of vehicles get totaled out once declared Finished.
Must be bad voodoo. 💀
Picked up another buff-pad today and went to work on the hood. Power equipment is nice.
So, better then it was but I figure with the age and wear, the only real option is a refinish. Not that big a deal at this point. At least the thing is closer to uniform then it was with the 3/4 flat-black.
