no start on my 85' cranks but doesnt turn over.

i have a 85' and this morning i started her right up, drove maybe two miles down the road to the store... turned her off... then maybe ten minutes later, i tried to start it and the engine cranks but doesnt turn over. the battery, starter and alternater are new. i am thinking its the fuel pump or a dirty filter... any ideas?????

I'm assuming it started and you got home? if you eventually got it started I'm also assuming you have spark? I would check the fuel filter. If that doesn't do it try testing the pump for pressure a carbuerated motor needs about 4-8 psi to run.

on my 86 i had a problem with the fuel pump relay working intermittantly, change the relay and see if that works, when you change it make sure all the wires for that relay are connected the the plug.......its located under the hood on the driver side inner fender

Do you have an EFI or a carbed engine?

i used to have an issue with my 85 where if you shut it off on a cold morning after it just got warm and didnt restart it right away it would flood. it was a choke issue. I can remember cold nights where i drop my GF off and ended up sitting in my truck for like 30mins before i could get it started again.

We need a little info about the truck.motor.condition etc.
