Hey guys
My 79 passenger seat latch will not reclose
I pulled the latch to pull the seat forward. Now it won’t go back to the open position to reclose.

Thoughts?

Hey JS, sometimes the seat drops back momentarily after you pop it and re latches without grabbing the anchor. Try pulling the release while prying the latch open. If that works, it should catch properly. I'd put some **** in there too. Possibly spray grease of some type. HHS 2000 from Wurth is amazing for latches and hinges.
Hope that helps
Cheers

thanks for the suggestions. The latch is stuck at a 3oclock position
It needs to be at a 6oclock position in order for the seat to lay flat to relatch

Do you know how to pry open?

Use a pair of large channel locks across the bottom of the latch. Hook the upper jaw in the latch opening, place the lower jaw against the back side (the curved edge opposite the latch lever) and pull towards 9 oclock while pulling as hard as feasible on the release lever. (you may have to push the lever a bit towards 2oclock to unjam the linkage.)
If that fails, pull the latch out of the seat and look for linkage issues.
Hope that helps
Cheers
