Hello everyone, I was excited to find this forum today and look forward to delving into to the collective knowledge of y'all. I've had a 1986 Bronco for a couple years now, and it's a car I really love. It has it's share of problems, and I've been telling myself I need to get a new car for quite some time now. But really, I'd like to put love into this car and keep it on the road for years to come. I think it would be selfish to have anyone spoon-feed me the How To's of what I'm trying to accomplish, but what I think I'm really looking for is guidance. I'd love for some book recommendations for a beginning yet aspiring DIY mechanics as well as recommended tools.

Anyways, I'm excited to be here and learn. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I have been known to be handy with and have a work ethic. Thanks for any and all advice!
Some of my goals I have for my Bronco:
- Engine dies when I switch from park to drive unless I feed it gas.
- Fix the air conditioner.
- Fix the Driver/Passanger electric windows which don't operate.
- Install a modern stereo that doesn't look out of place in a 1986 Bronco
- Repair the top of the dash, which has become brittle from the sun and has holes in it.
- Replace the Headliner
- Replace sun visors
- Replace window trim seals
- Replace filthy carpeting -- is there a carpet alternative worth considering?
