I'm new here and I want to beef up the 2.9 in my b2...I've tried a swap for a 4.0 but that failed....I've heard of rigging up a 5.0 MAF to the 2.9, 19 Lb injectors, 5.0 throttle body...porting and polishing the intake, ignition overhaul, wires,etc. Since this is my daily driver, I don't want it out of commission, something that would take a day off to do...also, something any Joe blow could do...I hate to say it but I'm not at all mechanically inclined. I plan on in the future to retry the 4.0, **** I'd do a 5.0 as long as it was fuel injected....anyway, any suggestions on the 2.9 please feel free...
My short term goals...new kn air filter and spark plugs, oil/oil filter change.
Cosmetics: semi gloss OD paint job, frame and under carriage black( prolly just use krylon cuz I like to roast the tires in red clay), rocker panels, nerf bars, safari roof rack, bull dog the front end.
....prolly new shocks, bumpers, 10k winch....
And far far into the future....prolly upgrade to Dana 35s with some ARB lockers. Keep the gear ratio around 3.73-ish...I don't want a rock crawler, just something that'll get me out of a sticky situation.
