Hey guys. I've got a big problem with the driver's side tailgate lock. One of the jaws is on top of the other and I can't get it to disengage, the lock on the passenger's side works fine. Any ideas as to how I can get this resolved without taking it to a shop to get it fixed? Thanks in advance!

The tailgate opens up with no problem, the lock on the passenger's side engages fine. I've tried using the handle, no go. I've also tried prying the lock open, still won't budge. As far as I can tell the stuck jaw is hitting a stop inside of the lock housing.

I almost had to replace mine on the drivers side till frustration overwhelmed me and i hit it with a sledge, works like new now. New ones cost 60 on the driver side and 40 on the passenger side. Good luck..
