check the CD yokes at the t-case, as well as the ujoints. i had the clunk, then the yoke let go and took at the ujoint and dented both my mufflers from the shaft swinging around

If it sounds like a metal to metal slap, I go with Blade. Mine is doing the same and I finally found out that the holes in the rear radius arm brackets are egged.

My mechanic pointed it out to me when I asked him about the noise and my truck was up on his lift. You can't see it directly because of the bushings blocking the view, but what is visible is that the ends of the arms were not centered but were up toward the frame with the lift supports under the radius arms. Hope that makes sense.

Solution: new brackets, bushings and perhaps radius arms.

Good luck,

:)>-

If you are talking about the one on the rear drive shaft, there should be a grease fitting near the U-joint. The U-joint should also have a grease fitting. The on on the double carden joint behind the transfer case is difficult to get at and mine took a special fitting on the grease gun to do it.

Good luck,

I had a clunk on mine when you hit the gas and it ended up being a loose motor mount.
