Does anyone know where you can buy a dual exhaust system that runs out the back (under the back bumper)? I cant find a affordable system anywhere. I'm willing to spend around $200-$250. I got a 1994 stock bronco 5.0. Please send links

Man, I hate to be the one to tell you this but I don't think there's one out there for that kind of $$$. Going all the way straight out to the bumper will cost more in materials alone. I've never seen one either, most follow the factory route & kick out to the side. Getting what you want sounds like it's going to be a custom job or maybe you can fab a hybrid by finding a cheap system that gets you over the rear axle & then have a shop run it the way you want from there but I think that *anything* from the cats to the bumper will run closer to $400 if not more.

You'll also get alot of the exhaust funes back inside the cab with the windows down when you run the pipes straight out the back. And I agree with Broncobill78, have a muffler shop build your exhasut. It cost me about $550 for a single cat, si/do Flowmaster and the pipes routed behind the passenger-side rear wheel plus labor. That was in '02 or '03, JSM84

Oh jeez, forgot about that completely. He's absolutely right. shoot it straight out the back and you're going to hate the way your truck smells when you put down the rear window while driving not to mention that the whole carbon-monoxide poisoning thing will really ruin your trip to grandma's. You can of course avoid that with one of those wing-like wind deflectors that bolt to the rear of the hardtop AND it will have the added advantage of keeping the window reasonably clear when driving in the rain. The deflector will ***** up the airflow over the back of the truck & it eliminated the low-pressure area right behind you that sucks in not only the exhaust but all the crap thrown up by your tires on the wet road. I guess the jury's still out on whether they look ok or stoopid but either way they eliminate a couple of nagging Bronco-specific problems

I had one of those Lund Winjammer air deflectors on my hardtop. All it did was make my Firestick CB antenna whip around like mad and bang against the side of the Bronco when going over 60 mph. JSM84

Well, OK I can see that, but I was in Mass when I had those trucks and with every storm we'd get literally TONS of salt & sand spread on the road and for the next two weeks the back end of the truck would be a salted mess from driving on the wet roads and even though I'd clean the rear window every time I stopped for gas or got home @ night the thing would be clouded over and useless 10mi down the road. Since the Bronco's are pretty much aerodynamic bricks there's a huge low-pressure area right behing the truck that you can actually SEE when another one drives past you and that L-P zone sucks in the water/sand/salt slurry that coats the roads (and it's particularly bad at highway speeds). I'd spend each & every winter cursing Ford for not installing some sort of wiper arm on the back window (yes I know it really isn't possible to do with the sliding window but that didn't stop me from wanting one). I noticed you were down there by the nice folks at L&L so you probably don't see too much sand & salt on the roads but north of the Mason-Dixon it's a problem. I'd see a lot of those windjammers and the guys running them swore by them but I never knew if it was because they worked or they were just defending the big goofy wing on their truck. I ran a couple big whips myself so I guess I didn't really miss anything

Yeah, I had hoped it would work to keep all the dust off of my rear window since I drive gravel roads and offroad everyday. But instead of directing all the air straight down the rear of the Bronco, the deflector split the airstream off to either side, and only at highway speeds over 60 mph did I notice any benefit. Even with the rear window up, i would still get some exhaust fumes into the cab with the dorr windows down, as well as alot of dust. I finally bit the bullet and removed the hardtop, running ******* or with my Skyler fastback softtop.

As per the original post, check with LMC Truck or Summit Racing or JEG's. You can buy the parts liek the cat, muffler and pipes to build your own exhaust system. Be sure to check state laws on routing of the pipes, as most require that they exit behind the rear wheels. The best set-up for duals I've seen is a dual exit muffler with the two pipes split out under the rear bumper at a 45-degree angle. Routing the pipes behind the rear wheel allows alot of mud to stick to the pipes if you do much offroad driving. And 2.25" is the stock exhaust diameter, JSM84
