Yes, all full-size Broncos have D44 fronts, from 80 on up they use D44IFS (independent front suspension) axles. The kit you're look at will work
alright cool

when ever u wanna do the conversion let me know, thats the best deal ive found on the conversion kit with the new hubs

other places are charging almost 200 bucks for both

so when u got some extra cash let me know and we'll order us a pair

the autos u dont have to turn

when u ingange 4 wheel drive and they lock

the manuals u have to get out of ur truck and psychically turn the dial to the "lock" position

so yes u can can tell the difference

the manels have a dial to turn and the autos dont

What do you mean what am I running up front? D44 with the 3 bolt auto hubs. Some 32x11.50 and some 15x10 rims and some disk brakes and some gears (stock) and no engine up there at the moment... Anyways... :-"

Yes, the kit that Billy Toppless posted is a conversion kit for the autohubs that you have on your Bronco. The bolts only hold the cap to the hub body, and the hub body of the conversion kit uses a six bolt hub body. It's the wheel hub lock ring and axleshaft snapring that actually holds the hub on the axle shaft and in the wheel hub. So you should be good to go Bidi.

i wouldnt advise auto's

they ****

they disegae when u go into reverse so and then reengague after u go so far

so when u get stock and put it in reverse to get out ur frong wheels unlock

if ur gonna spend the money it would be worth it for the manuals

dont be lazy

Sure, you can replace them with another set of auto-lockers if you want, but what would be the point ? Service the ones you have because unless they're broken there's really be no advantage to installing a new set. To be honest I just don't understand the whole "I don't like getting out of the truck" deal. There are a number of considerations here. To begin with everyone should understand that auto hubs are *less* than reliable (a LOT less). Once you've engaged them if you go & back-up then you've DISengaged them and you're back in 2WD (ask Billy about this one, he'd been trying to figure out why he kept getting stuck in the mud and couldn't back out of the mudholes :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> ). Auto hubs make it virtually impossoble to rock yourself out of a stuck. Manual hubs STAY locked and engaged once you turn them, very simple, VERY reliable. Also, you do *not* need to keep hopping in and out of the cab. It is perfectly acceptable to lock the hubs at the head of a trail or when bad weather is forecast and then just engage the transfer case when you want 4WD. Back in New England I would routinely lock the hubs and leave them engaged for weeks at a time in winter. The extra wear & tear caused by keeping them engaged like that is negligable and if you clean & maintain them & your front end then it's even LESS of an issue. The main reason that people swap to manual hubs is simply that they're so reliable. With auto hubs you have no telltale or any other sort of indicator to tell you that they *are* in fact physically engaged and they disengage on their own so frequently that they're just plain unreliable, add to that the problem of having one hub engaged while the other isn't (again, no way to tell what the deal is, except for the fact that you're stuck & the front end isn't helping you out). Now Auto hubs work fine for the Soccer-Mom crowd that never takes the truck off-road or that uses 4WD so infrequently that it's not a big deal. If the only time you ever use 4WD is for snow covered roads and you rarely get stuck then sure, auto-hubs are a fair compromise and lots of people who use their trucks that way are happy with them. There's absolutely no *performance* advantage to be had with hubs, locked is locked regardless of how you achieve it, the huge diffrence between them is reliability. When you turn a manual hub you KNOW it's engaged and it STAYS engaged until you decide different. Auto hubs were marketed & sold as a *convienance* feature and that's all they are, you trade reliability foe a percieved sense of convienance (I say "percieved" because there's nothing convienant about being stuck because the hubs keep disengaging on you when they're needed most)

Was just asking what you had for hubs. The mounting points are the same for all the D44's so it doesn't matter. The kit Billy found will replace yours. there are cheaper kits out there but Warn is pretty much King of the hill. A set of Warn Premiums will easily last for the lifetime of the truck. Open them up once a year to clean & regrease and that's it. To be honest most guys just put them on, use a top quality grease and then never touch them again and never have a problem with 'em. Personally I like to clean & **** a lot of things annually but even if you don't finding someone who had a Warn hub fail for any reason is pretty damn rare. This is one of those times when a few extra dollars for the Premium product is well worth the investment. You can put them in and forget about them.

I was being sourcastic! I just hear that the 3 bolt auto's need a "conversion kit" to make the manuals work. I don't take my Bronco out muddin' but I like knowing they're UNLOCKED instead of wondering? Now, when I get back to WA they'll come in handy with all the roads you end up making on your own. Well, thanks there bronco budy!

How much are a new set of WARN manual hubs??
They usually run somewhere in the neighborhood of $100 for Warns. You can find MileMarkers for about half that if you look around. I've *never* heard of a Warn manual hub failing, even after years of neglect. I have occasionally heard complaints about the MileMarkers but they use plastic parts where Warns are pretty much nothing but steel thru-out. I have to say though that I've never *personally* known anyone with MileMarker hubs that had a complaint, it's always been second or third-hand knowledge. I like inexpensive stuff but I *hate* cheap parts. It can sometimes be hard to see the line. I would STRONGLY suggest taking the time to Google both mfg's and reading what people have to say about both, there's no shortage of forums out there that cater to the 4WD crowd. Read what people have to say & make an informed decision.

It's a great idea. I got autos and love em. I also got hip high boots for walking in the mud to hook up tow lines.

I deleted the rest because I was too sarcastic.
