wiring for rear light in cargo area

i was wanting to hook up a rear light in my back of the bronco but i cant get it to work. i found the sensor for the door and it has red, black, and green. i hooked the light ,white to the red and black to black and nothing happen. so then i tried the green and white and the black to black and the samething nothing. i have check the light directly to the battery it's work. so idk what wrong with it. any ideas well be appreciated.

I tapped mine into my dome light, only two wires, no errors possible. Also, take a current tester to see if where you are tapping into has power.

so you have two wires at the dome light? I think he could only find one. BTW, did your light only have white and black wires?

my dome light only had 2 wires, as did the neons I hooked to it. One of the mounting screws was the ground on the dome light too. And I JUST figured out that my headlight switch turns to adjust my panel lights and I can even turn the dome light on with it, and for the last 4-5 months I've been using a wooden bat to keep my door open. Now I don't really have a good excuse for carrying a lousiville slugger around anymore.

Alright I got it finished. I ended up tapping into the wires down by the kick panel on the drivers side. It was brown and pink/blue (hot). I really appreciate all your help. Here is a picture of where I put the light and cig. lighter.

About time we got it figured out huh. Now we need to get the ones under my dash hooked up.
