I was looking to put fullsize axles under my 73 bronco and wanted to run leafs up front. The axles cam out of a 1976 f-100 and there halfton. I was looking to get some write ups or some good web site to see what all got to happen.

If any one knows anybody that had put a 390 FE in a EB net me know(In the process of doing it now, with a granny 4 speed)

Why use leafs? Is it because thats what is on the full with axles now?

I've seen some trick Broncos with front leafs but its way more work than adding coils. All you have to do is grind the perces off the axle and weld on new wedges for your c-bushing / coil set up. Most run earlier axles cause the pumpkin us pushed towards the center than the Driverside. The newer D60's like I run have the pumpkin pushed towards the driverside by 3" more than a EB would. The driveline heads off at an angle not enough to worry about. Stick with coils and your life will be much easier and you can run "Bronco Parts". If you want extreme go coil overs with a 4 link front and rear. Its not that expensive.

If i run springs up front they will hit my third member. I can get all the leaf springs and all the hardware for the truck for free. All these parts come of a dodge. Just wanted to run leafs up front because the lift would be easy to upgrade. Plus i was thinking since i got a 390FE the weight would be heavy up front.

There is no 3rd member up front unless you run a custom 9" or 609 up front.

If you are talking about the stock leaf pad that is cast into the pumpkin then its the same one I run.

I have a 1989 D60 axle and it has the driverside leaf perch. I decided to use Cage Offroad's weld on bracket so I could run radius arms. Here's some picts!

Or you can add wedges like the last photo...
