I have a 75 that looks like it is leaking in thru the windshield hinge. I have the seal in there, but maybe installed incorrectly. Should the roll(thick) side go towards the front or rear of the vehicle?

Thanks Chuck

Hi Chuck.,

Mine is in with the "bead" (thick) toward the rear. Having it forward could distort the piano-hinge.

I've not had any leaks., even tho I've lowered it a time or two.

However., I have no lit. that states the proper placement. :-"

No solid literature like a specific manual, but I used the ordering diagram out of the LMC Truck Catalogue which can be viewed online. It and I agree with Bully Bob and it help me figure out all the unlabeled seals. I also glued it to the bottom of the channel so it will stay put when laying the windshield down (however I don't operate my EB with it down).

I put it back in with the roll to rear and put some rtv on it to hold it towards the front. No more leak so far.

Thanks :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
