Well I just received my driver side power window motor and regulator along with a roller for the regulator from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard and my question is all this stuff wasn't in my bronco when I bought it so I have no idea what type of nut/bolt combination is used to attach the motor to the regulator. My haynes manual states what to use for the regulator arm itself, but not the motor.

Also I have been told to use a lythium grease, but the haynes manual states to use polyethylene grease. Is the same stuff or what? I'm assuming that not only do I put grease in the roller channel, but also between the regulator arm (pendulum area) and the bracket? It rubs pretty good there.

Can you tell this is my first time!!!!!

Thanks,

The motor mounts to the regulator with three machine screws. Easiest way to put it on is, after you've got the door panel off, put the glass all the way up and brace it or have somebody hold it. I used a short piece of 2x4 lumber to brace it up. Take the speaker out of the door. This makes it easy to mount the motor to the regulator. You'll need to find those three screws if they didn't come with the motor. Lithium grease is probably the best. That's what I use, and that's what comes factory stock. Miesk5 should have more info if this doesn't help.

thanks, snowman...that's the problem my drivers side door didn't have the motor or regulator arm so I don't have any hardware for that side. I suppose I can take apart the passenger side to get lengths and such, but I'm trying to avoid that road if possible.

Well I got the regulator installed, but have realized that this new motor has no threads in the body for the mounting hardware. So I'm going to have to come up with something...

thanks,

That's odd. No threads? You could probably pop-rivet it on. Might try some small bolts.

Well I finally have both motors mounted and running extremely well... I ended up just going to the local hardware store and buying 3 more of the 8mm bolts that the passenger motor had. I also read that fix on window motors with the hex nuts so I also bought 6 of those...

WOW I now have 2 very operable windows

Thanks for all the help!!!!

Great! Still don't understand why no threads. How did the speaker removal trick work for you?
