I'm finally acquiring more information on the setup on my 76 Bronco. It looks to have the np435 4 speed. I am prbably going to swap the 390 for a recently rebuilt 302 from a 70 Mustang. What do I need to fit the tranny to the small block? Or should I find something else? Thanks.

I think from what I've read, I can use a 300 I-6 truck bellhousing, and the flywheel, etc. from an 11" truck clutch to mate this up. I don't need to change the transfer case, do I?

I would think the flywheel needs to be for a 302 and for the correct year model to have the balancing right, all else seems spot on. the exhaust "Y" pipe is gonna be different minor things like rad hoses and brackets could be different.

If the EB you have already has the NP tranny in it and has a 289 or 302 in place, just swap engines. Everything will work. A 289/302/351w are all Windsor blocks and will bolt up the same. You need a 302 bell housing, inline 6 transfercase to transmission adapter & if memory serves, an adapter plate. The best prices I have seen anywhere for them is from BC Broncos.
