I have a 73 Bronco with stock lift and hood.

I want to put in a 4 BBL manifold and carb. 470 or 570 Holley. Edelbrock Performer or Holley manifold

Do I need a body lift or a hood scoop to make it fit?

And can I use my factory air cleaner?

I would guess that the answer is NO. I had an Edelbrock intake on my FSB with a 4bbl and the stock air cleaner would not fit. I had to have a smaller one on it to just fit with the hood closed.. I don't think you have the space of a FSB so I'd guess that a scoop would be needed. The best thing to do is measure the space and components to see if they will fit. The Edelbrock intake manafold sets several inches taller than the stock manafold.

Good luck,

Depends on which intake you are looking at. The performer RPM intake is taller than the performer, as is the torker and so on. The performer is I believe the shortest, It is pretty much a factory replacement. Installation Notes: Recommended intake gasket: Edelbrock #7220. Manifold height.: A-3.50", B-4.75", see A/B Measurements. Port exit dimensions: 1.09" x 1.84".

Maybe consider finding a intake off an '85 mustang **.

Yes you need a hood scoop/different hood and/or a BL unless you find a low profile intake manifold & air cleaner. Typically no you wont be able to use the stock air cleaner because the mounting surface on a 4bbl is much bigger then the stock 2bbl. carb. As it is, right now with stock hood & no body lift you are looking at a clearence of the factory air cleaner of a little less than an inch. I remember when I still had a carb, I took my air cleaner off & the bolt came out of the carb and I wasn't paying attention when I put it back on and installed it upside down and it dimpled my hood when I closed it. You are dealing with a lot tighter area than the guys with the FSBs are. You can get a fiberglass hood from Wild Horses, for a pretty penny, a body lift of 2" will help, but typically that doesn't cover it. You need a new hood or cut yours and install a scoop. Like I said, you will also need a new air cleaner. Get a K&N (or comparable) and you will get better performance.

I have an Edelbrock Perfromer Package in my truck with a low profile air cleaner and it fits fine. I have poly body bushing, stock height. The air cleaner can't be over 2" high.

I believe this is the filter I used, and it fit fine...stock height, edelbrock performer intake with 600 CFM carb.
