They both have their pluses. I am gonna go with a y-pipe to a single muffler to a single out. It is cheaper and the flow will be about the same. Plus there is no need to try to tune it.

dual makes hp at top end usually followed by loss in tq. single has a good mid increase, makes more low end tq. but hp drops off near top

i don't really like to run duals because you have twice the ammount of pipe to smash with a rock or something, but they do sound sweet , i'm thinking of making an ajustable atv disk type baffel behind glass pack's that exit in front of the rear, just my 2 cents

That sums it up right there. With properly run exhaust one can be just as good as the other. At best one would be only nominally better than the other. You can only push out as much air as you take in. This could go back and forth all day, and still be debating the merits of each.

The best point of a single IMO is that you can run it in a way that you maximize ground clearance. With a dual that becomes much harder since you only have so much space to tuck things away. Add king_butt_head's point to that and you have a strong argument for a single exhaust pipe.

No No No NO NOOOOOOO. Sure they are cool. However you can get just as much power out of a single set up as you can with duals.

He asked :

Duals, of course

Yes I did ask that but you never know what the future holds I might put duals on then 5yrs. down the road get a nice crazy idea to go rock climbing or trail riding or something then the duals could get ripped off and its a waste of money or I can get single and tucks it under for better ground clerance so that doesnt happen.

Duals sound good, as long as it's done right and doesn't ***** up your motor.
