What's the piece called that is between the hood and windsheild? The wiper motor knobs (that connect to wiper blade arms) come throught his piece. It's as wide as the hood, and about 5-6" deep.

My plan is to buy a new/used one for my project. I want to install some offroad lights. And until I can get my roof basket made up (a year or so away) I want something for temp.

So my idea is to place one offroad light on each side of this mystery peice (bottom corner of the windsehild; outside) and mount my HID ballasts under/hidden away. The 12v source for the lights is on a quick/disconnect as I don't want to keep them installed on this removable body peice on my truck. This way I'll have some bright lights for camp/offroading! When I get home, I can simply swap out this body peice with my orig. one and have my truck look stock again.

Adamdude, Joe is correct about the part name. However, swapping it out is not a 5 minute job. You need to remove the wiper blades, open the hood and remove about 8 screws along the front, remove 4 screws along the top through access holes, and remove the radio antenna. Then if you are lucky, you will be able to get it out. Usually, you have to move the hood slightly forward to get it out without bending it, which means loosening the hing bolts that are attached to the hood.

Good luck,

:)>-

Well the wiper blade arms I can deal with..I take em off every time I go through a car wash (last set got bent). The screws no issue. The hood may pose a problem though.. and the antenna. When you say remove the antenna, are yout alking about the base or the whip? Or a cable that possibly screws into the base..

The radio antenna is attached to the cowel and the wire is attached to it. I have heard the easiest way to get it off is by first removing the hood. It does not sound like a part I would want to swap repeatedly.

Hmm I need to find some way to mount some offroad lights!

I checked out the Carr Light Wings. Might order that (For $100, ouch!)
