Well ,I finally put in my order for my new Currie...35 spline,ARB,9" complete rear end.Can anyone recomend what upgrades I shouldnt forget while regearing my D-44?...Im almost out of bucks...but I was going to put an ARB in the front unless, someone convinces me something else is better...OX locker?...E-locker?.....because of so many icy roads all times of the year I got rid of my detroit. Can anyone tell me which axles are tops, and do you change spline counts with these (MOSER,WARN etc....)in order to upgrade like a 9" rear? S Bolt 19....I dont know if you"re gonna call me stupid, but I went with 4:30 gear ratio on that 9" rear order,I know Ill regret it when I go back to 35's..you think I went insane and should call Currie and change to 4:56's....it takes three weeks to get it back now ,so I could propably still change it?

Naw, I wouldn't call you nuts. I actually thought of going with that same ratio but I do too much highway driving to justify using that gear ratio. I have just found that finding the guy that sells those gears for the front end are a little hard. But I would do it if I was more off road than on. With a 35" tire the shortest gear I would go would be 4.11s, so you should be just fine.

As far as what locker to put in the front, I would stay away from Ox for a couple of reasons, one being because they have filed for bankruptcy once or twice because they can't seem to generate money. With out money, it means no employees, trickle down effect means that are they gonna be there if something goes wrong? The other thing is that they are more expensive than an ARB and ARB is a very reputible company that everyone has had some sort of aquaintence with. Never talked to anyone who has used the electric locker so I cant say anything about it.

Axles, I would say for price, use Yukon. If price isn't an issue, use moser or currie. I have talked to guys who don't like the Warn front axles because of spline stripping problems. But I think that the front is a 30 spline axle so that should be strong enough unless you just want to go with something with even more strength. I don't know what the next size spline is though.

well read my signature and you will see what i did....of course Im running 39.5s. For the front I still like the ford trak lock....its a 90% lock and thats about all I want in the front so i dont break an axle(and its only 80 bucks). If your stuck your stuck....winch out.

axles: the Yukons rock...and they are the only ones with a 5 year warantee. I love mine....but if you go with upgraded axles you better get the u joints too....yukon super joints are what I run....and I havent broke one yet....My buddies broke an OX joint on 38.5s plus i dont like how you have to grease them. The whole axle set will cost you about 550 from one end to the other. Alot cheaper then the others
