What transmission is in an 89 5.0 and 95 5.8 Bronco

this is probably a simple question for most of you guys, but i have an 89 that I am parting out and i would like to know what trans is in it. Also is the 89 stronger or weaker then the 95. my gess is weaker..??

Well for one is it a 3sd or 4sd???

If it's a 3 speed than it's a C-6 (my favorite and stronger then the 4speeds in my opinion)

If it's a 4 speed then most likely an AOD or the other one I can't remember off hand.

the 95 will have a E4OD electronic transmission. which the 95 E4OD was stronger than the AOD but not stronger than the C6 3-speed thats my 2 cents

everyone bashes AOD transmissions but i been pushing 38's for about 4 years now and havent had a single problem

Look for the transmission code on the safety sticker on the driver's-side door jamb. Code "K" is the C-6 3-sp auto, code "E" is the 4-sp overdrive E4OD. 88/89 was the first year for the E4OD that replaced the AOD, code "T" I believe. Just my opinion, the pre-92 E4OD trannies weree not as strong as later models like the 95. More info if you search past posts or the tech articles forum and go to "Miesk5 Homepage".
