What size speaker wire?

I plan on putting 6x9s in the rear in boxes and wiring them to an amp. What guage of speaker wire would you guys recommend using?

its been a while since ive messed with speakers and stuff, generally the bigger the wire the better. you can buy a amp wiring kit at any electronics store. I cant remember what gage they usually come with but i would probably use around the same size speaker wire as the amp wires are.

if you aren't useing an amp, go with either 18 or 16 awg. Bigger is not better, too big of too small it will change the resistance. 16 awg should be good for up to 100 watts without any problems.
